We know every family have just one boy.
And number of children per family:
1/2 + 2/4 + 3/8 + 4/16 + ... which is 2. (it is derivative of a geometric series)
(First term:         0.5 of the population will have 1 child.
 Second term:     0.25 of the pop. will have 2 child.
 Third term:         0.125 of the pop. will have 3 child. Goes on.)

Though, my answer is quite late considering the posting time of the question :)</description>
